Reclaiming Confidence: Exploring Reconstructive Surgery Options
Reconstructive surgery is something people from all walks of life choose whenever they want to feel better about themselves after an injury or extended illness. Plano and Frisco area patients have gotten their lives back on track after undergoing reconstructive surgery by board-certified plastic surgeon Charles A. Wallace, M.D.
What is Reconstructive Surgery?
Reconstructive surgery is a broad term used to describe any procedure designed to rebuild or reconstruct certain body parts or facial features. Many people choose reconstructive surgery to correct deformities caused by birth defects, injuries or diseases, such as cancer. Reconstructive surgery doesn’t only affect how an individual looks, but also how well that person functions. For example, hand reconstructive surgery can allow people to perform everyday tasks that they might not be able to do otherwise.

Is Reconstructive Surgery
Right for Me?
While reconstructive surgery can go a long way toward helping you restore your appearance, it cannot correct all deformities. For this reason, you should undergo a consultation with Dr. Wallace to discuss your surgery goals and find out if there is a procedure available that will help you reach them.
How Much Does
Reconstructive Surgery Cost?
Once a treatment plan has been established, we will then be able to provide you with a cost. At that time, we will discuss our various financing options with you. Some of our reconstructive procedures may be covered by insurance, in which case we will do our best to ensure you receive all the benefits you are entitled to under your plan.
For your convenience, we accept cash, check, Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express® and Discover®. Financing options are also available via Prosper® Healthcare Lending.
After Your Reconstructive Surgery
We will discuss aftercare with you during your consultation to ensure you are adequately prepared. Depending upon the procedure you have, post-operative instructions may:
-
Require you to wear a bandage or compression garment
-
Prevent you from performing heavy lifting or strenuous activity
-
Involve the use of medication to eliminate swelling
-
Limit the use of certain body parts, such as the hands
You will gradually notice an improvement in your appearance as your body heals. As your appearance changes, you will also begin noticing enhanced self-esteem and a more positive outlook on life.
